Making an Impact, Together

About Me

I am a seasoned educator and scholar-practitioner specializing in humane pedagogy, transformative education, and curriculum innovation. With nearly 20 years of experience across education, secondary language learning, nonprofit development, and global justice-based curriculum, I drive solutions-based pedagogy and systemic change.

As a dedicated servant leader, I champion community action, equity, and sustainable growth, fostering dialogue that amplifies diverse voices. My work bridges education, nonprofit, and community sectors, leading projects that inspire purposeful engagement and solutionary action.

How I Define Leadership

  • Active, genuine involvement in community-driven action to build thriving, sustainable communities.

  • Sharing passions with curiosity, staying open to different ways of thinking and being.

  • Designing systems that welcome diversity of background and thought.

  • Creating two-way pathways for communication that foster connection and engagement.

  • Collaborating and listening actively to develop frameworks that thrive sustainably.

  • Redefining leadership beyond hierarchy—thriving as a leader wherever you are.

  • Having the courage to advocate for justice in the world and community.

  • Thinking strategically and acting as a force for collaboration, connection, and empowerment.

Having worked across industries and borders, I believe education is the most powerful force for sustainable change, and what we learn directly impacts the way we see business, community, and organizational structures. I value authentic relationships, thoughtful dialogue, and a life enriched by nature, art, and community. And yes—I love snow.

EDUCATION

  • My doctoral research explored humane pedagogy and whole-school sustainability, focusing on how education can be a transformative force for building resilient, justice-driven communities. Rooted in systems thinking, my work examined how curricular frameworks that integrate real-world problem-solving, ethical reasoning, and solutionary action can foster engagement and long-term impact.

This research not only deepened my understanding of how educational institutions shape societal change but also honed my ability to think strategically across industries. By analyzing interconnected systems—education, nonprofit, and community development—I developed a keen ability to design, implement, and sustain initiatives that drive meaningful transformation.

At the core of my work is a commitment to building scalable, adaptable frameworks that foster collaboration, diversity of thought, and long-term sustainability. My expertise in navigating complex systems, aligning strategic goals with community needs, and fostering innovation makes me an asset in any industry where leadership, adaptability, and mission-driven impact are essential.

  • My Master’s work centered on education as a vehicle for systemic change, with a focus on solutionary leadership and sustainable community-building. I examined how learning environments can be intentionally designed to cultivate agency, critical thinking, and ethical problem-solving, empowering individuals to become active participants in shaping just and sustainable systems.

This foundation has guided my approach to building businesses and initiatives that strengthen communities. By applying solutionary principles—identifying root causes, designing ethical solutions, and fostering collaborative action—I have created enterprises and programs that address pressing social and educational challenges while ensuring long-term sustainability.

Whether developing organizations, partnerships, or strategic frameworks, my work is rooted in the belief that leadership is about more than directing—it’s about designing systems that uplift, empower, and create lasting impact.

  • My Bachelor of Education was the foundation of my teaching career and my commitment to transformative education. It was during this time that I developed a deep interest in critical pedagogy, humane education, and the power of teaching as a force for societal change. I recognized that education is not just about content delivery—it is about shaping minds, fostering empathy, and empowering learners to engage critically with the world around them.

What began as a practical choice—teaching English as a second language to meet the demands of a competitive career opportunity—quickly evolved into a deep passion for international education and leadership. This experience broadened my understanding of linguistic and cultural integration, inspiring me to explore global education systems, cross-cultural communication, and sustainable learning frameworks that bridge borders.

This journey became the pillar of my approach to teacher leadership, community involvement, and lifelong learning. It ignited my passion for creating inclusive, equity-driven learning environments and reinforced my belief that teachers are not just educators, but leaders, change-makers, and community builders.

My B.Ed. was not just a starting point—it was the catalyst for a career dedicated to leveraging education as a tool for advocacy, systemic transformation, and global impact.
